It is with great sadness and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Marguerite Glynn, 85. At the time of her death she was surrounded by loved ones, including her beloved son, in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Marguerite was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to William and Mabel Booth. In 1956 she married the love of her life, the late Paul J. Glynn. They resided in Fairfax County, Virginia, where they had a son.
She is survived by her only child Douglas J. Glynn and his wife Janette, with
whom she was living at the time of her passing. She also leaves behind her
surviving siblings, her sister Dolores Groff of Lititz, Pennsylvania, and her bother Dwight
Booth of The Villages, Florida.
Marguerite graduated from Ephrata High School in Pennsylvania in 1951 before
taking a job in Washington, D.C. where she met her future husband. They settled
in the suburbs of Virginia Hills.
Marguerite loved walking! She would walk through a forest, along a beach or down a busy city street, stopping only to admire a beautiful flower, work of art or a spectacular view.
She had a great appreciation for natural and artistic beauty. She loved gardening and crafting things with her hands.
She was a gentle soul who enjoyed learning new things. Marguerite loved to travel and visited much of the continental US and many countries abroad. She always had an interesting story or anecdote to share. Her presence put others at ease.
Marguerite loved life and we mourn her passing. She was loved by many and will be profoundly missed.
At her request, her cremated remains will be interred to a plot she now shares
with her beloved husband Paul. A private Catholic funeral service will be held
at her graveside on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia.
