Obituary of Robert Wayne Beggs
Robert Wayne Beggs (Bob), 71, of Fairfax, VA and Summerville, SC, died peacefully at the Capital Caring Hospice Center in Aldie, VA early Sunday morning, September 8, 2019.
Bob was born on October 24, 1947 to the late John E. and Donna L. (Seybert) Beggs and raised in the Clarion County area of western Pennsylvania. He graduated from Keystone High School in 1965 and then from the Pittsburgh Automation Institute in 1966. He served in the Washington, DC and Connecticut Army National Guard as a military police officer and an artillery non-commissioned officer. Bob worked in the Information Technology field for 41 years before retiring to his beloved South Carolina in 2007.
Bob enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends, he was most proud of his two holes in one while retired in South Carolina. He loved hunting, Yankees baseball, Weimaraner dogs and vintage British cars. Above all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his two children: Emily A. Weyrich and her husband Steve Weyrich of Fairfax Station, VA and Patrick T. Beggs of Ashburn, VA; six adored grandchildren: Matthew Weyrich, Sarah Weyrich, Michael Weyrich, Katherine Weyrich, Travis Beggs and Gavin Beggs; a sister, Nancy L. Powell of Marienville, PA and sister-in-law Brenda L. Beggs of Seneca, PA as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother John T. Beggs of Seneca, PA.
Per Bob’s wishes, there will be no memorial services. Bob received a heart transplant at the age of 52 and his family is forever thankful for the additional 19 years he received from this life saving donation.
