Patricia “Patty” Susan Meisels
June 7th, 1955 - August 27th, 2022

Patricia “Patty” Susan Meisels passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2022, surrounded by her family, after a short illness.

Patty was born in Killeen, Texas on June 7th, 1955, to the late Clarence and Erika Wright. She spent some of her childhood living in Berlin, Germany, where she had fond memories.

She graduated from Killeen High School, had a career in radio broadcasting as on-air talent, and then later went on to receive a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, after serving as an Adult Probation Officer for the Dallas County, TX Court System. She later moved to Pennsylvania where she lived for 15 years and always considered Pennsylvania to be her “true home”; she and her husband moved to Virginia for his career, but always planning to go back to Pennsylvania in the future.

Patty enjoyed cooking, cats, gardening, and photography. She also loved to laugh and exchange Dad jokes.

She is survived by her husband Jason Meisels, daughter Shannon, and son Daniel, as well as three grandchildren and her beloved cats.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers to please donate in Patty’s memory to a local animal shelter, ASPCA, or the Fancy Cats Rescue where she adopted her cats. Donations can also be made to the Rheumatoid Research Foundation (https://www.rheumresearch.org).

A memorial service will be held at Direct Cremation Services of Virginia in Chantilly, Virginia on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022 between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM EDT.
