Dr. Conate enjoyed playing tennis and basketball and he was a fan of boxing.  He would often play tennis with his middle son and the doctors he worked with.  His other passion was food and he enjoyed all types, especially seafood.  He enjoyed cooking and experimenting with different flavors and loved sharing them with his family and friends.

Among his many talents, Dr. Conate was also a College Instructor. He was an instructor of Nursing in the Philippines and educated students of Medical Surgery at Northern Virginia Community College. In his younger years, he was the lead singer and composer of his band and recorded an album or two (his family is on a mission of finding these albums).
