David E. Burgess, 71, passed away at his home in Winchester, VA, surrounded by family on February 15, 2022.He was born on March 15, 1950 in Fayette, West Virginia. Dave served in the Army during the Vietnam War, retired from Goldin and Stafford Construction in 2017 and he’s a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Dave had a deep passion for his Catholic faith and belief in God. He cherished his family beyond measure. He is survived by the love of his life, Martha W. Burgess (Stafford), whom he married on May 24, 1971, Daughter, Tina Avery (Burgess), Son, Joshua Burgess, Daughter-in-Law, Dalia Burgess (Salah), four grandchildren, Rachael Avery, Michael Avery Jr., Seth Avery, Ethan Burgess, great granddaughter, Sophia Montesinos and brother Chuck Burgess.
He is preceded in death by parents, Coy and Garnet Burgess, son David E. Burgess, Jr. six brothers Donald Burgess, Gary Burgess, Kyle Burgess, Bill Burgess, Daryl Burgess, two sisters, Shelby Skaggs (Burgess) and Barbara’s Kesock (Burgess).
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 26, 2022. Rosary begins at 9:30 am and mass at 10:00 am St. Bridget of Ireland Catholic Church 1024 W. Main Street Berryville, VA 22611
