Obituary of Mitzi Romiti

Mitzi Romiti - 81, Associate Broker with Samson Properties died on July 19,2021 from a long battle with lung cancer. A dual citizen of England and the USA she moved to the US in the late 50’s and married twice. She raised three children with her former husband Anthony J. Romiti of Homosassa, Florida. Mitzi volunteered as a nursing assistant at the Naval Hospital in Groton Ct. and worked part time preparing taxes with H&R Block. She was involved with the enlisted wives while their husbands were at sea and was an integral part of passing messages through a phone tree system. She taught advanced and beginning cake decoration at the Navy Community Center while her children learned judo in the next room. She was the local Representative and President of the Cosmopolitan Associates SE Chapter for over 20 years. The Romiti’s moved to the Northern Virginia area in 1983 and soon after she moved to Hollybrook Condominiums in Falls Church Va.  Mitzi became a Real Estate Broker in Northern Virginia during the late 1980’s and also became the President of the Hollybrook Homeowners’ Association holding her office for over thirty years. She loved eating out with friends and family. She met with a group of friends known as the Lunch Bunch for over twenty years and prior to Covid 19 they met biweekly. Their group always picked the next restaurant out of a selection of favorites in a plastic bag. Several local restaurants would consider their group to be regulars. She was a great story teller and will be forever missed.

She left behind a son and two daughters, Steven L. Romiti, COL, USAR, Karen A. McGehee LMT formally of Oakland, Md. Residing in Mystic Ct., and Gail M. Romiti of Crystal River, Fla. She also left behind 9 Grandchildren, one granddaughter in law, and 7 great grandchildren known to them as Grandma the great!
