Obituary of Gong Suk Park

Mr. Gong Suk Park was born in 1937 as the oldest son of 5 siblings. He came to the United States in 1972 to later have his family join him in 1973.  Initially, as an electrician working for G.E and later a business owner, he put his 3 kids through college and onto successful careers. What most people will remember about him is not the comfortable lifestyle to be able to travel, golf and read, but rather the personal engagement of quality conversation and instilling the hope of God to others.  He cared. He loved. He served.

Dad passed away peacefully on April 10th 2021.  He leaves behind his wife - Young Ja, 3 children - David, Sunny, Michael and 6 grandchildren - Diana, Elliott, Jedidiah, Josiah, Nathan and Hannah. All of whom were marked by his indelible touch of genuine love. He also leaves behind a host of others whom he loved and cared for deeply… his brothers, nieces, nephews and his church community whom he served faithfully as an elder. Above all, his wife of 58 years whom he shared all of life’s mountains and valleys.  Their marriage modeled warmth, commitment, and love.

It was such a wonderful blessing to circle our dad as each of his prayed for Jesus to receive his spirit, praising God that we have this hope that we will see him in heaven. What a glorious day that will be to finally arrive in His glory. I know our dad is happy there, I know he smiles even now knowing that he loved and served well. Galatians 5:22-23 was the life verse which he lived everyday - To love others well, to have joy no matter life circumstances, to be filled with His goodness and to have patience for others.

We thank you for sharing our dad and the many ways you have enriched his life. His last few words were, “I have lived a good life, my heart is full. I am ready.”
