Caroline Mercier Chipman, age 86, of Winchester, VA passed away on January 31, 2021 at the Blue Ridge Hospice In-Patient Care Center in Winchester, VA.
She was born 1934 in Northumberland, New York, the daughter of the late Mary V. and Orville J. Mercier.
She was retired as Director of Winnwood Retirement Community in Marietta, Georgia.
Caroline enjoyed decorating, and kept her house decorated for all seasons and holidays. She was always crafting, sewing, and painting. There was nothing that she wouldn’t at least attempt to paint to bring it new life. In her younger days, she loved to spend the day at the beach and enjoyed bowling. She spent her leisure time working crossword puzzles, reading, and playing scrabble. She looked forward to people stopping by and entertaining. She deeply cared about her family and enjoyed every moment she spent with them.
Surviving are her daughters, Caren Lee Duenas of Johnstown, Colorado and Brenda Lynn Baker of Winchester, VA; 5 grandchildren, Dennis Lee Duenas of Bozeman, Montana, Teri Melissa Duenas of Johnstown, Colorado, Curtis Lee Baker of Gore, VA and wife Jenni, Jennifer Duenas Merck of Firestone, Colorado and husband Nick, and Andrew Brannon of Berkeley Springs, WV; 4 great-grandchildren, Avri Elle Merck and Austin Lucas Merck of Firestone, Colorado, Tanner Lee Baker and Sadie Lynn Baker of Gore, VA, and her loyal, best friend, Jay her doggie. Her grandson, Jason Duenas preceded her in death.
