Beth Hancock Peters, 61, of Bristow, Virginia passed away peacefully in her home in the presence of her family on May 25, 2018. Beth had battled cancer for several years prior to her death. She is survived by her spouse Charles R. Peters and her son Griffin H. Peters. Beth was preceded in death by her parents James and Bertine Hancock. She was born Beth A. Hancock in Lawrenceville, IL, and grew up in Findlay, Ohio were she graduated from the University of Findlay and started work in the semiconductor industry. She later relocated to Raleigh/Cary North Carolina where she earned an MBA from Meredith College and continued her business career. Beth was a selfless and caring person who often put the needs of others before her own. She was also friendly, outgoing and fun loving. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, travel, enjoying nature, and being with family, friends, and her dogs. She made a difference in the community by volunteering in the local school system for several years.
There will be an informal gathering to celebrate Beth’s life at the clubhouse in the Kingsbrooke subdivision in Bristow, VA from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on June 7th. The clubhouse is on Braided Stream Dr. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or Lab Rescue of the LRCP, https://www.lab-rescue.org/, which rescues abandoned labrador retrievers from the threat of euthanasia in over-crowded shelters or other at-risk situations and places them for adoption into loving homes. Her dogs, Winston and Thor were both adopted from the Lab Rescue of the LRCP.
