Warren Steven "Steve" Riley, Jr., 50, of Arlington, Va went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2020.
Steven loved the outdoors, reading, gaming, music, politics and had a keen intellect for math and sciences. He was an especially passionate Computer Engineer and Programmer. He came of age during the advent of the micro-processor and home computing, and while a Teen he pioneered algorithms and technologies that contributed to the processes of gaming, visual processing and shareware, to name a few.
His intellect and talent led him to a career in Computer Science, at which he excelled. His life led him to an interest in helping people and politics, which he often wrote about passionately and disseminated via social media.
He loved animals, especially dogs and cats, which led him to create a Feline Charity and Support group, "The Flufferton Foundation". His great love was for his own dear cat, Mr. Shiney.
Steven had compassion for people, especially the vulnerable and hurting. He was very optimistic about the future, he believed recent developments in the fields of Genetics (CRISPR) and Artificial Intelligence would be used to solve humanities most intractable problems. He continued to pursue research and work in the field of Artificial Intelligence as he was excited to be part of the solution.
He never gave up building his life. He was kind hearted and gave to others even when he had nothing for himself. He had a loving soul and a beautiful smile.
Steven is survived by his father and mother, Steve and Kathy; his sister, Juliet (Dan); his Fiancé, Amy; and his many loving Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
Steven will live forever in our hearts and be loved deeply.
