Roberta Yackel Miller, 85, of Ashburn, VA, formerly of Rochester, NY, died on February 21st.
Roberta was a school teacher with the Rochester City School District for 38 years and an avid volunteer before and after retirement. She was a docent at both the Eastman House and Stone-Tolan House and also volunteered for the LPGA and Hillside Children’s Center until moving to Virginia in 2011. She was a graduate of SUNY College at Brockport and East High School.
She lived with her daughter Dianne Miller of Ashburn, VA and is also survived by her daughter-in-law Jackie Miller of Boca Raton, FL, her grandchildren Joshua, Douglas, Nicholas and Jessica Schrier and David and Patrick Miller, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Frederick Yackel, her sisters Patricia Yackel and Joanne Diehl, her husband Robert Miller, and her son Keith Miller.
A memorial announcement will be published in March with the service details which will be held in Rochester, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillside Children’s Center or the March of Dimes.
