Thomas Joseph McCabe Jr., 67, of Rockville, Maryland passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2020.
Thomas was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Catherine Barbara Simpson and Thomas Joseph McCabe Sr. on August 28, 1952. He was a graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School in 1970. He went on to become a General Contractor, owning his own business for 30 years. With a work ethic beyond compare, a trait instilled in him by his father, providing for his family was always his top priority. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Rosensteel Council, and the Sons of the American Legion Post 86. He was a talented singer song-writer and self taught musician, mastering the right handed guitar as a left handed young man.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Stephanie McCabe; devoted daughter Kaitlyn and son in law Christopher Fritts; four most beloved grandchildren: Madeleine, Taylor, Lindsey and Ryan; and his favorite granddog, Hank “Hennybug Jones”. As a Philadelphia sports fanatic, the love of which he passed on to his daughter, he was the happiest while watching an Eagles game with Kait. He loved the beach and spent many happy days enjoying time with his family and friends in Lewes, Delaware, a place very near and dear to his heart.
Memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at the Glenview Mansion at Rockville Civic Center on February 1, 2020 at 2pm.
