Obituary of Sonia Spangler Fields
Sonia Spangler Fields, age 83, a long-time resident of Woodlake, in Midlothian VA passed away peacefully on the 29th of October at Capital Caring Hospice in Aldie VA after an extended battle with breast cancer.
Born in 1936 in York PA, she was the daughter to Helen and Charles Spangler, a house wife and mother, a secretary, and later on a merchandiser for china, silver, and children’s clothing. She loved travel with family and friends, and visits with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included reading historical novels and following all the royal families of Europe. She especially enjoyed her opportunities to visit Europe, as well as multiple Christmas Holidays in London with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter; Elizabeth Fields-Austin with husband Trey, and her two sons; Thomas and Stephen Fields and their wives Julie and Crystal. She is also survived by her two granddaughters Madison and Reagan, who she cherished deeply.
Per her wish she was cremated and will be interned in the columbarium following a short remembrance with family and friends at the Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park, 10000 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA on the 23rd of November, at 11 o’clock.
