Thomas Guy Nichols, III Obituary (1950 - 2022)

Age 71, of Arlington, VA, passed away on February 24, 2022. Tom was born Wabern, Germany on September 23, 1950 to Suzanne Meyers and T. Guy Nichols, Jr. He attended St. Louis School in Clarksville, MD; Our Lady of Good Council High School in Wheaton, MD; graduated from the American International School in New Delhi, India; attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, Long Island Univ. in Brooklyn, NY and University of Nevada, Reno, NV. He was shop steward for the IATSE Local 487 (Mid-Atlantic Studio Mechanics and Broadcast Technicians of MD-VA-DC). Tom was the #1 most requested key grip in the D-M-V area on over a 1000 commercials and was also credited in over 35 features films and TV shows (IMDb). Tom worked for many years at the Washington Source for Lighting/Red Star Pictures in Hyattsville, MD imparting his many years of experience onto the next generation. He retired in 2018. Tom is survived by his brothers Dan Nichols, Tony Nichols and Vincent Rucker and their families; as well as many cousins and close friends. The family will hold a private memorial event in the Spring.
