Steve Lee Williamson Jr., 51, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully of natural causes in his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.\n\nSteve was born on November 25, 1970 in Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated from Liberty High School in Bedford, Virginia in 1988. Thereafter, he attended Roanoke College and earned Bachelor's Degree in computer science and statistics. After graduating from Roanoke College in 1992, Steve moved to the Washington, D.C., area and began a career in information technology as a software development consultant in Alexandria. He moved on to work at Westat Corporation in Rockville, Maryland as a Senior Manager of Software Applications and Development, a position he held for over 12 years. After leaving Westat, he worked in Software Development and Enterprise Analytics positions at East Carolina University, Excalibur Solutions, and MBA Consulting Services. In 2018, he earned a Master's degree in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia.\n\nSteve loved spending time with his Bichon dogs, Bentley and Winston. His passions were traveling, gourmet dining, champagne, singing karaoke, and listening to music from his extensive vinyl record collection.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Steve L. Williamson Sr. and Barbara L. Williamson. Steve is survived by his partner of 16 years, Bernard "Bernie" Schulz, his sister, Carol Williamson Vest (David), niece Olivia Vest, cousins, special aunts & uncles and dear friends.\n\nA Celebration of Steve's Life will be held Monday, May 16th at 5:00 pm at Chef Geoff's, 3201 New Mexico Avenue, Washington, DC. 20016. A reception will follow in the Colket Center on campus, located across the street from the Chapel. Parking is available in the P10 Lot next to the Olin Theater off High Street.
