Sree Raja Rajeshwari Tayi Obituary (1945 - 2021)

Mrs. Rajeswari Samineni (Alias: Sree Raja Rajeshwari Tayi), 75, of Hyderabad, India, passed away in Arlington, Virginia, U.S.A. on February 19th, 2021 after a long heroic fight of one and half years with Colon Cancer. As wished by her during her last days, she was surrounded by her daughter Mrs. Lata Tayi and son Mr.Venkata Krishna Lakshmi Samineni Narasimha Rao (Babu) at the time of her passing. She is also survived by Lata's husband, Mr.Venkata Krishna Kishore Tayi and two granddaughters, Ms.Yukta Tayi and Ms.Navya Tayi. Mrs. Rajeshwari was the second daughter of Mr. &. Mrs. Lakshmana Swami Naidu Tayi of Mogaltur, Andhra Pradesh, India. She was born on 15th July 1945 at Peddapuram, Andhra Pradesh. She was married to Mr. Krishna Rao Samineni of Vijayawada. Mr. Krishna Rao Samineni was an expert in Hydel Designs and retired as Superintendent Engineer for Irrigation of Karnataka PWD. Mr. Krishna Rao Samineni succumbed to prostate cancer in June 2019 at Bengaluru, India and Mrs. Rajeshwari had devoted her full time to take care of her husband. Mrs. Rajeswari moved to Karnataka after marrying Mr. Krishna Rao Samineni. They had four children, Babu (Venkata Krishna Lakshmi Samineni Narasimha Rao), Prasad, Valli and Lata. Prasad and Valli predeceased their parents and siblings and have reached the heavenly abode many years ago. Mrs. Rajeswari was a very active person who was always ready to help the needy. Due to her husband's frequent work-related transfers, Raja Rajeswari had to move around various places in Karnataka along with her husband. She took an active part in the ladies clubs at all the housing colonies of Mr.Krishna Rao's postings. She was very good in various sports such as Table Tennis, Carrom board, and Ring Tennis and won many championships at various ladies club events. She could speak many languages, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and English. She was very fond of charity work and actively helped many families who were affected by floods and other disasters by donating food, clothing, and cooking items. She organized numerous medical camps for the benefit of poor and under privileged people by requesting various doctors who were experts in their respective medical fields. She was an expert artist in various types of fine arts such as painting, embroidery, embossing, sand work etc. and conducted regular classes in teaching them. Mrs.Rajeswari was very interested in traditional Indian cooking and developed many innovative recipes, to the delight of her family and friends. Mrs. Rajeswari was very devoted to God and never missed a pooja worship. She was a regular participant in the temple rituals at Sree Keerthi Towers where she lived in Hyderabad and actively organized worship services there for everyone to attend. In keeping with her open-minded, universalist spirit, she recognized all Gods from various religious traditions in her personal prayer room at home.
