Marilyn Virginia Joseph Obituary (1926 - 1926)

Mother and grandmother Marilyn Virginia (James) Joseph passed away in Arlington Va, on 03/19/22 due to complications to Covid-19 at the age of 95. She was born on August 10, 1926 in Connellsville, PA., and was the eldest daughter of Andrew and Edith James. She had two sisters, Lenore Knight and Anne DiLella, and a brother, Andrew James jr, aka Jack., all of whom have preceded her in death. Her mother taught school for 30 years and her father owned a taxi cab service. Marylin graduated from Connellsville Senior High School in 1944, upon graduation she moved to Washington, D.C. where she spent 12 years working for the FBI . While there, she met and married Louis Joseph of Waynesburg, PA in 1950, with whom she had four children. The family moved to Arlington, VA. in 1962. She remained married to Mr. Joseph until his death in 2013. After her children finished school, Marilyn went to work for the Arlington County Public School system as a teacher's aide and helped establish the Montessori Program in Arlington County. Mayilyn also was a paraeducator to disabled children within ACPS. As well, Marylin spent several years volunteering for the American Heart Association. She resided in VA until 1997, then moved to San Bernardino, CA. for 15 years, but returned to Arlington, VA for the remainder of her life. Marilyn is survived by daughters Dawn Ferguson, Janelle Peters, Melinda Pritchard, and son Louis Joseph Jr., and 9 grandchildren Jake Pritchard, Mitchel Pritchard, Reese Pritchard, Jena Severin, Jillian Peters, Hope Hill, Luke Joseph, Annapage Shanti, and Jared Ferguson, 9 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. A memorial service will be held on 4/3/2022 and a 40 day memorial service May 1, 2022 at St. Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthordox Church in Potomac, Md. She will be missed.
