Angela Dozier de Colom of Springfield VA, departed this life on December 21, 2020 with her beloved daughter Loretta by her side. A great and caring wife, mother and grandmother.\nShe was born in 1935 Annapolis Maryland to Loretta and Henry Dozier USN CDR. Like her mother before her she was a registered nurse where she graduated from Mount Saint Mary's College (1957), Brentwood California.\nIn 1962 she married Gustavo Colom Argueta in California. She lived many years in Guatemala and then in Virginia. Angela is survived by her children; Gustavo Colom (Tina), Loretta M. Colom, Angela Schneider (Stephen), Gabriela Reitan (Scott); and grandchildren Alex, Ben and Ethan Schneider and Anthony and Michael Reitan.\nShe had a passion for gardening, especially beautiful flowers and most particularly orchids. She also had a passion for the arts, she was an accomplished artist. She particularly loved to dance the Tango with her husband. She was great fun when solving puzzles and playing card games, she loved to win. She had an adventurous spirit when traveling and in the kitchen when cooking. As her health declined, she often asked for her husband. Her husband, the love of her life left us in 2014, she missed him terribly, and they were married 52 years.\nShe was a member of the Saint Raymond of Penafort in Springfield VA and longtime member of St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fredericksburg, and an active member of the Falls Run community.\nA Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 14 at Saint Raymond of Penafort, 8750 Pohick Road, Springfield, VA 22153. Immediately following the Funeral Mass, please join us for the Interment at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032. The Interment will be of both Gustavo Colom Sr. and Loretta Angela Colom. The procession will start from the Cemetery office parking lot, not to be confused with the funeral home. Enter from Burke Station Road and an immediate right off Outlet.\n\nIn lieu of sending flowers, if so kind please make donations in support of your local food bank.
