Lorana Paulette Lister Obituary (1944 - 1968)

Lorana Paulette Lister, of Spotsylvania, VA, died after a long battle with Dementia at the age of 76. Lorana is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; her children, Michelle Groat, Joe Lister (Tena), and Linda Frye; her grandchildren, Savannah Frye (Luke), Shayne Frye, Jacob Groat, Cody Groat and her great grandson, Liam and her brother, Leland Matheny. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orien Matheny and Mary Ellen Matheny. Lorana was born on January 21, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio to Orien Matheny and Pauline Kelly. She married Joseph Lister Sr. on February 3, 1968 in Brunswick, Ohio. Together they had two daughters and a son, who were the most important part of her life. She loved spending time with her kids, extended family members and friends.The light of her life was her great grandson, Liam Ryder. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions because of the virus, we are unable to hold a memorial service at this time and will postpone until early spring when we will have a celebration of her life.
