Lauris Hugh Powell Obituary (1933 - 2016)

LAURIS HUGH POWELL On February 1, 2016, Hugh Powell, beloved husband of Joan, cherished brother of Milford (Becky) Powell, father of Cynthia Beal, Patricia Bane, and Diana (Mike) Farrell; stepfather of Pamela (Phil) Pierce, Katherine (Jim) Whitten, Teresa Phillips, and David Nicholas; grandfather of 15; and fortunate to be a great-grandfather also. Mr. Powell served his country in the USAF for ten years. Mr. Powell was a caring husband of 49 years, an animal lover, an avid reader, and a fan of college basketball. Memorial service at Direct Cremation Services of VA, 4425 Brookfield Corporate Dr., #100, Chantilly, VA, on Friday, February 12 at 11 am. Interment at King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA on Friday, February 12 at 2:00 pm.
