Karen Coggin Watson, who loved to be called "Mima" by her three rambunctious grandchildren, departed her loving family on October 2nd, 2021 after a brief fight against the evil that is cancer.\n\nKaren was born on September 19th, 1952 in Meridian, Mississippi to Robert & Kathryn Coggin. Karen was mother to Lesley Kelley Boger of Leesburg, Virginia and Tyler Kelley of King George, Virginia.\n\nAs a special education teacher with 46 years of service, Karen loved to teach children who needed the extra support and attention they deserved. She taught students from preschool to high school and everyone in between. The classroom was truly her calling and inspired her daughter to follow her into the profession.\n\nShe will be deeply and keenly missed by her three grandchildren: Ethan and Alys Boger of Leesburg, Virginia and Mackenzie Kelley of King George, Virginia. There was just not enough time to fit in all of the fun things they wanted to do together.\n\nShe is survived by her sister Patti Harden of Collierville, Tennessee and Phil and John Coggin of Meridian, Mississippi.\n\n\nA memorial service will be held during the summer of 2022 at the family's chapel in Harmony, Mississippi.\n\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital can be made in Karen's name.
