JULIE ANN DEL ROSARIO passed away on July 11, 2018, from metastatic breast cancer. She is survived by her husband Gerald (nicknamed Jay) and by her son Zachary and daughter Jade. She was born in 1957 and raised in Minneapolis, MN. She moved to Northern Virginia in the 1980s. She worked for Unisys Corp. for over 30 years as a computer systems analyst and project manager. Julie and Jay met in tap and jazz dance classes; they later married in Las Vegas, in November of 1994. They adopted Zachary from Guatemala in 2000 and Jade from China in 2005. In 2010, Julie found out she had Stage 3B breast cancer. Over the next 8 years, she had various treatments, including a lumpectomy and radiation, to fight the cancer whenever it would come back. The family made a lot of great memories, especially after she was diagnosed in 2010. That included going to Hawaii 6 times; Las Vegas; NYC; San Francisco; Branson, MO; VA Beach; Myrtle Beach; Ocean City, MD; Cape Charles, VA; Williamsburg; VA; Atlantic City; and Florida nearly every year. She stayed positive and hopeful during the entire process and didn't complain much. She was a fighter and full of energy. She beat the odds all along the way. She loved animals and owned several cats over the years. She also took Jazzercise classes for over 20 years. She loved to travel and try new things. Julie was a fabulous wife and mother and successful at her job. She was a firecracker whose light burned out too soon. Jay, Zack, and Jade will miss her dearly.\nA memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 11 am - 3 pm, at the Little Rocky Run HOA Rec Center #3, 13900 Stonefield Dr., Clifton, VA. It will be an informal celebration of her life with photos, food and drinks. Flowers can be sent to the del Rosario home; 13700 Shreve St., Centreville, VA 20120, or brought to the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contributions can be sent to the home address or brought to the service.
