Douglas Robert Emmons (19 June 1951 - 8 May 2022)\n\nDoug Emmons passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home 8 May 2022. Doug was a loving son to his family and many friends alike.\n\nHe is survived by his mother Doris Mae Emmons of Ormond Beach, Florida and his brothers Greg Emmons of Palm Coast, Florida and Bobby Emmons of Waterbury, Connecticut.\n\nDoug grew up in Monroe, Connecticut graduating from Masuk High School in 1969 where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the Varsity Baseball Team. Doug also attended the University of Connecticut.\n\nHe served honorably in the United States Air Force for 3 years stationed at Andrews Base, Virginia providing telecommunications support for the President of the United States and other Government Senior Executives.\n\nDoug spent over 30 years working for the United States Postal Service walking his mail route daily serving the residents of the Winchester, Virginia area. He was well known locally as a very caring mailman and a good friend to all the customers on his route.\n\nDoug was also an avid sports fan routing for the Washington Capitals and the Washington Nationals. He certainly was elated when the Capitals won the Stanley Cup in 2018 and the Washington Nationals won the Baseball World Series in 2019.\n\nA cremation service for Doug will be held in the Winchester, Virginia area and his ashes will be joined with his pre-deceased father, Edwin Robert Emmons, and his brother Scott Richard Emmons in St Petersburg, Florida.
