Denzel Lee Carter, 73, of Winchester, Virginia passed away on April 16, 2021.\n\nBorn November 3, 1947 to Mary Elizabeth Butler, who preceded him in death. Denzel was a painter by trade and an avid sports fan. He got more joy from his adored Red Sox recently then his favorite football team from Washington!\n\nHe is survived by his only daughter, Tracey Chapman of Inwood, Wva and her husband Terry Chapman, his three grandchildren; Courtney Kelly, Nicholas Chapman, and Haley Chapman, along with two great-grandchildren. Denzel was also the beloved brother of Connie Whittington (Johnny) of Winchester, Tommye Butler (Amanda) of Winchester, and Gloria Foster (Walter "Skip") of Stephens City, giving him 6 nieces, of which two preceded him in death; Angela "Angie" Carter and Hailey Butler, and two nephews.\n\nDenzel was dearly loved by his family and will be remembered fondly.\n\nVisiation will be held at Direct Cremation Services of Virginia, 106 Hyde Court, Stephensc City, VA, on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 at 10:00 am until the start of the service at 11:00 am. Pastor Richard Cunningham to officiate.
