Darla A. Painter, 57, of Rippon, WV passed away Wednesday, October 13 at her home.\nDarla was born January 12, 1964 in Manassas, VA, daughter of the late Louis Edward McDavid and Elizabeth "Anne" Caylor McDavid.\nDarla is survived by her true love and partner in life, Jim Painter; two daughters, Jessica Harrison and Sherri McDavid; one son-in-law, Mark Harrison; two sisters, Dianna McDavid & Tina Murphy Poppo (the baby sister); one brother-in-law, Scott Poppo; 1 granddaughter, Alice Bayles; 3 grandsons Lee, Abel & Jaxson Penwell; 4 nephews, Brian Boswell, Jamie Campbell, Andrew & Ryan Murphy. And last but not least, her spoiled German Shepard, Jase.\nDarla was a dedicated, hard-working person. She had a hard exterior but inside she had a heart of gold. She was a person true to herself and was always her brand of genuine, whether you liked it or not! She enjoyed being a Grammy and spending time with her grandchildren.\nIn addition to her parents, Darla was preceded in death by her sister Dee Dee Edmonds, brother Darryl "Pete" McDavid and nephew Danny Campbell.\nFamily will receive friends for a Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, October 17 from 2-5pm at Blue Ridge Mountain Fire Department, 181 Keyes Gap Road, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425.
