Concordio Gacayan Caballero, 97, the husband of the late Luisa Minoza Caballero, passed away on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021 in Centreville, Virginia.\nConcordio was born on January 1st ,1924, in Cebu City, Philippines. He was the oldest son of the late Domingo and Sergia Caballero.\nConcordio served during the Second World War as Philippine Scout under the U.S. Army in the Far East (USAFFE), he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he talked about the memories of his military service with great enthusiasm and passion, and he proudly wears his hat that says World War 2 Veteran anywhere he goes.\nAfter his service, Concordio worked as a building contractor for many years in the Philippines. When he came to the US in 1981, he assumed different types of handy man jobs, his knowledge and expertise in building homes kept him busy in the US until his retirement. He was a devout Catholic, his strong faith in God, inspired him to pray each day his long Novena prayers.\nHe is survived by his daughters: Margarita and Teresita with husband Ricardo Jr.; and his son Hilario with wife Rotea. Grandchildren: Joseph with wife Loida; Ruthell with husband Hermes; James with wife Daryl; Adrian; Daniel and Andre. Great grandchildren: Ariana, Nathan, Matthew, Claire, Vera, Jhem and Nithea.\nHe is also survived by his sister Gloria, of Cebu City, Philippines.\n\nThe Family of Concordio expressed their sincere gratitude to the kind care Concordio received, at Walter Reed Hospital and Veteran's Medical Center Medical and Palliative Care Team, and the Capital Caring Health of Virginia, Hospice Team.
