Claiborne Rudolph (Rudy) Allen, 78, of Winchester, VA, died on February 8, 2022. Rudy was born November 12, 1943, to the late Delmar and Erselle Woods Allen in Durham, NC.\nRudy is remembered with love and survived by his current wife, Rita of Winchester, VA, their two children, son, Delmar Allen II (wife, Morgan, stepdaughter, Lexie) of Bunker Hill, WV, daughter, Chesnee Belber of Winchester, VA, and his first wife, Ann Allen of Durham, NC, their two children, son, Claiborne Allen II (wife, Christie) of Durham, NC, daughter, Kim Sullivan (husband, Tim) of Middletown, MD, and four grandchildren, Charlie, Timo and Greta Sullivan, Dylan Allen and one more grandson due in April, Alrik Allen.\nIn addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by grandson, Taylor Allen.\nRudy's career spans approximately 40 years in the telecommunications industry, in various non-management and management positions, starting with GTE, then Southern Bell, AT&T and last, BellSouth, retiring in 2000. He was presented the BellSouth President's Circle Award in 1999.\nHe loved his family and friends. He cherished memories of growing up on a farm in NC. He enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking, vintage cars, tractors, good food and drink, and searching through antique markets. He had the pleasure of traveling to Bermuda, Germany, and Nova Scotia, among other places, which helped to fulfil his love of travel and photography. His spirit and enthusiasm will live in our hearts forever. He was wonderful, unforgettable, and loved.\nRudy chose to be cremated and his ashes scattered at a later time. No service is planned.
