Carrie Lottie Beam Obituary (1938 - 2022)

On January 21, 2022, Carrie Lottie Beam peacefully fell asleep in death. Carrie was born to the late Gus & Mozella Ceasar on November 28, 1938, in the state of Georgia. She lost both her loving parents in death at the age of 2 years old. She was the youngest of 10 children. In the early 1950s, Carrie moved to live with her oldest sister, Queen Elizebeth Ceasar who cared for and raised her like one of her own children. Carrie would often say to Queen's firstborn that, "she was the oldest child". Carrie was educated in Alexandria, Virginia, by the Alexandria City Public School System. In 1959, she married the late McCartha Noel. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Kim and Laverne. In 1963, Carrie married Nathaniel Beam. They were blessed with three beautiful children: Nathan, Tina, and Christopher. Carrie was a dedicated homemaker, who took pride in lovingly caring for her family and home. She made sure that her children were well cared for, and she was always present in their lives. Though she was shy by nature, she could be the opposite especially when it came to her children. As the children grew older and less dependent, Carrie pursued a career outside the home. She worked as a Grocery Store Clerk and a Film Developer for a short period of time. Thereafter, she was inspired to work for herself. She ran a successful cleaning service for many years. However, her love for people, especially children, led her to open a Daycare Center where she cared for children for more than 30 years. Carrie was a warm, kind, and loving person with a huge heart. Her love for people moved her to extend help to all those that she found struggling and in need. As a result, she gained a huge extended family of sons, daughters and close friends of which many referred to her as Momma or Momma Beam. After a few years of her study of the scriptures with Sister Fannie Blakey, Carrie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 23, 1990. She loyally served as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Mount Vernon Congregation, in Alexandria, Virginia for 20 years. She enjoyed participating in the many facets of the field ministry, diligently sharing with others the truth about Jehovah God, his loving son Jesus Christ, and the Kingdom blessings to come. She was a faithful servant for 32 years until she fell asleep in death. Carrie's most memorable moment was during her ministry in the Mount Vernon Congregation. When faced with opposition from her daughter regarding her faith, she loyally took a firm stand with Jehovah in defense of the truth, a truth that she found through her earnest studies of the scriptures. These truths were the foundation that moved her to dedicate her life to serve Jehovah forever and to always cling to him and put him first (Psalm 119:42-44). Carrie relied on Jehovah's loyal love for the strength she needed to preach to her daughter without fear of losing her. As a result of her firm stand, Tina was moved to search for answers regarding her mother's newfound faith. After Tina had her own diligent study of the scriptures with Jehovah's Witnesses, she was satisfied with what she found. She too resolved to make changes in her life and on July 4, 1998, dedicated her life and got baptized. This experience strengthened Carrie's love and faith for her God Jehovah, even more. She was compelled to never give up on preaching and teaching to her family about the Kingdom blessings with a hope that one day their heart condition would change and allow themselves to listen and put trust in Jehovah's righteous standards and future promises. In 2010, Carrie was unfortunately diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and early onset Alzheimer's, which forced her into retirement. However, she never retired from serving Jehovah whole souled with the strength she still had. In 2012, Carrie moved to Stafford, Virginia to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Bill Jones. They worked as tag team partners, to lovingly care for her physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. While serving in the North Stafford Congregation, Carrie had the opportunity to enjoy meeting new friends and creating new memories. She enjoyed working shoulder to shoulder with her sisters and brothers in the field ministry. As her illness progressed through the stages, she required skilled home healthcare. Her family had to resolve that they couldn't accomplish this task alone. Thanks to Jehovah's loving support to Carrie, the family was connected with the needed skilled resources from her Congregation. These skilled sisters not only provided their healthcare services, but they also comforted and assisted her with maintaining her spiritual routine. A special thanks and appreciation to the loving sisters that extended their energy, time, and resources to their dear sister Carrie. Sisters: Priscilla Reeves, Cydni Green, Mariah Hawkins, and Rashida Thom. With Jehovah's help and support, Carrie continued to enjoy leisurely activities. She often gathered with family and friends for meals, laughter, and good association. She enjoyed spending time with friends from the Senior Day Center, vacationing with family, traveling back home to Georgia to visit with family, dancing, and listening to "good old school" music. She also loved dance challenges to see how low one could get to the floor without falling. Despite the debilitating illness she endured for many years, Carrie experienced firsthand, God's words found at Hebrews 6:10: "For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name..." Our wonderful God Jehovah provided Carrie with all the love and the support she needed to endure her trials right up to the day she fell asleep in death. She was never alone. Carrie is now locked away in Jehovah's memory where she awaits God's promised resurrection hope (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29). She will be dearly missed, but not forgotten. As a loving faithful servant of Jehovah, Carrie was blessed with the opportunity to meet and nurture love for so many people. She also was a devoted Sister, Aunt, Wife, Sister-in-law, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Spiritual Sister and a good friend to many.
